 Typhani is a 2007 Penn State graduate with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Integrative Arts and Dance and a 2011 Penn State graduate with a Bachelor of Science degree in Education. She is a member of Kappa Delta Pi International Honor Society in Education and is currently pursuing her Master's Degree in Education at Saint Francis University. She has been a professional model and performer with the Harman Management/Casting Agency. She has modeled for SU (Supermodels Unlimited) Magazine and was selected as "Miss November" for Savy Models "Girls Next Door" calendar for 2011 and Miss May for Tiara Magazine's Cover Model Calendar 2012. She was an extra in the filming of The Dark Knight Rises. She appeared in a national commercial that is shown all over the country. She has studied musical theatre in New York City with the Broadway Artists Alliance which culminated in an off-Broadway showcase production at the New World Stages Theatre. She was a singer and featured dancer with the Sound of America European Performance Tour twice giving concerts in Austria, Germany, Italy, Luxembourg, France and Switzerland. She has performed in some of the most famous concert halls, beautiful cathedrals and churches in Europe including Notre Dame Cathedral and has also performed at Disneyland, Paris. She has danced in the Citrus Bowl and Capital One Bowl halftime shows in Orlando, Florida. She has released two CDs and will soon be releasing a third. She has performed in community theatre productions of The World Goes Round, Meet Me In St. Louis, Damn Yankees, Beauty and the Beast, Pippin, Smokey Joe's Cafe, Jesus Christ Superstar, Peter Pan, Gypsy, 42nd Street, Broadway Babies, and played the role of Sleeping Beauty in her senior musical at BGHS. She has been featured on WJAC-TVs Success by Six segment for her talent and charity involvement as well as having appeared many times on the Altoona's Talking television show. She was chosen 2007 "Rising Star" by the YWCA Tribute To Woman.
She is a former dancer with the Allied Motion Professional Dance Company and retired as a gold medal soloist with Blair Dance Company and is now on the teaching staff at Blair Dance Academy. She continues to study various aspects of the dance arts at Broadway Dance Center in NYC and has had the opportunity of dancing at the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater. She has sung the national anthem all over the country including singing both the American and Canadian anthems in Ontario, Canada and for the Baltimore Orioles MLB team at Camden Yard as well as having performed for numerous MLB teams and various other events. She is scheduled for many anthem performances throughout the rest of the year. Typhani is also an accomplished musician: piano, flute and drums and is a former competitive twirler haveing won numerous titles and awards at local, state, regional and national level compeitions including placing in the top six at Nationals for Solo, Fancy Strut and Dance Pom.
Typhani has held many pageant titles at the local, regional, state, national and international levels. Her titles include: America's U.S. Miss Pennsylvania, America's Perfect Hostess, Pennsylvania's Perfect Miss, Miss Pennsylvania U.S. Beauties, Pennsylvania's Heart Inspired and Beautiful Queen, Heavenly Angels National Miss, East Coast USA National Ambassador, Miss Pennsylvania East Coast USA, Pennsylvania State American Coed, Miss World Rose, America's Ideal Miss Pennsylvania, Miss Logan Valley International, Miss Dance Pittsburgh (1st runner up).
While a student at Penn State she was a dean's list student, President and former Secretary of Omicron Delta Kappa Leadership Honor Society, Alpha Lamda Delta Academic Honor Society, former dance captain and member of "Ivyside Pride" performance ensemble, Choreographed for Ivyside Dance Ensemble, Taught for the Children's Dance Theatre, Performed in the muical "Damn Yankees," PSU Urban dance troupe, PSU dance team and SODA (Students Organized Defending Animals). She was the keynote speaker for the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life Event held at Penn State. She was also featured in the Student Spotlight for the Ivyleaf Magazine and is listed in Who's Who among American Colleges and Universities.
Performing is her passion but her love for animals is her compassion! She is an active member of Aid for Animals - Laws for Paws, Central Pennsylvania Humane Society, the Humane Society of the United States and Students Organized Defending Animals. She has worked hands on for about six years with animal related projects. She has helped in the rescue and care of many homeless and abused animals some of which she chose to adopt and have become a part of her family. She is the founder and chairperson of her own campaign against animal neglect and abuse entitled "Out of the darkness of cruelty and into the light of compassion" creating brochures that she distributes throughout the community and at her public appearances. She hopes to educate the public and inform them of the different ways that they can become involved and help as well as sharing some of her own personal experiences. Typhani's future plans include training to become a member of the animal response team.
Typhani is the Vice President of Beauty, Brains and Heart. She is also extremely active in the community having donated her time and talents to organizations such as: Blair County Arthritis Foundation, Easter Seals, American Cancer Society, United Way of Blair County, Operation Our Town, March of Dimes, Dream Factory, Female Athletes Against Drugs, Toys for Tots, Adopt-A-Wish, American Heart Association, Make-A-Wish-Foundation, Habitat for Humanity, Community Action Agency, Miss Majorette of Pennsylvania, Crazyfest Youth Talent Show, children's parties and numerous nursing homes. She annually hosts a benefit fashion show and children's talent show. She is the PA Coordinator for Love Letters, Random Cards of Kindness and the emcee and choreographer for the Miss Pennsylvania U.S.A. Ambassador Pageant.
